
Gene Attal
Gene Attal, FAHP is the president and CEO of Attal+Co, an Austin, Texas-based fundraising coaching and consulting firm. His clients include healthcare, social services, arts, and education not-for-profit organizations throughout the United States.

Prior to opening Attal+Co in 2010, Attal served as President of the Seton Foundations, the four fundraising and endowment arms of the Seton Family of Hospitals in Central Texas. During his 35-year tenure at Seton, he was responsible for the raising of more than $300 million in philanthropic support. Included in his efforts were the $84 million capital campaign to build Dell Children's Medical Center and a $31 million endowment campaign for the The Seton Fund. During that time, he also served as an advisor to the $75 million campaign to build the Long Center for the Performing Arts.

Over the past 15 years, Attal has served as a strategic adviser on a variety of additional capital campaigns and major gift projects. These include the following:

Salvation Army Central Texas $19 million capital campaign to expand services, including a new Women's and Children's Shelter;
Waller Creek Conservancy $48 million capital campaign to restore and revive Waterloo Park
The National Shrine of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton's $10 million capital campaign to construct a new museum and create an innovation fund.
Trail Foundation's $5 million capital campaign to construct the boardwalk to complete the downtown Hike and Bike Trail.

​Other former clients include CASA Central Texas, the Contemporary Museum of Austin, Goodwill Central Texas, Breakthrough Central Texas, and Preservation Austin.
​
He also served as Dean of the Carl Anderson Foundation Fundraising Academy, providing fundraising education to nonprofits in Austin, San Antonio, Oklahoma City, Tulsa, and Albuquerque.

Attal is a Fellow of the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP) and a recipient of its Harold Seymour lifetime achievement board of directors. Other honors include the Beverly Sheffield Award presented by the Austin Community Foundation (outstanding nonprofit executive), the Arthur Page Award from the University of Texas (outstanding public relations graduate), and Affiliate status awarded by the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul.

A native of Austin, he received the Bachelor of Journalism degree with honors from The University of Texas and the Masters of Science degree in Journalism from Columbia University where he served as an International Fellow.
